Day of the Dead

Dia De Muertos

As some of you might know we are in Mexico right now, at Day of the Dead time. Here is a long line on Day of the Dead.

Dia de Muertos is Day of the Dead in Spanish. It is held on November 2nd. Around November 2nd families go to the cemetery and eat a feast, and put flowers and food by the graves. When you walk down the main street you see Altars that represent the people that have died, you can also see catrinas put up all along the sidewalk. Catrinas are a sign that means that Whatever you look like, and how much money they have, when we die we are all skeletons. The feast in the cemetery can last till midnight. You eat in the cemetery because they believe that the spirit will eat with them. The Day of the Dead is a happy holiday because they get to meet their past relative. There is a special bread for the Day of the Dead, they put it on the altars. You can get your face painted, and you can dress up. Some people dress up as catrinas and you can meet them and take pictures with them. When we did our festivities we went to the cemetery we walked around the cemetery and had pomegranate. We went to Ajijic to do our festivities. Hoped you liked my long line on The Day of the Dead.
